Halifax, NS, Canada — PanoVolo, a leader in panorama photo stitching software, today announced the release of version 1.12.0, now available for both Windows and macOS users. This release introduces support for stitching DJI Avata 360 panoramas.
DJI Avata 360 Support: PanoVolo can now stitch panoramas from Avata 360 DNG images, and produce panorama output in DNG, TIFF or JPEG formats. Multiple Avata 360 panoramas can be batch-processed and panoramic projections such as Panini, Mercator or Rectilinear are supported for Avata 360 panoramas.
Improved DNG Linearity and Dynamic Range: For panoramas stitched from DNG files, the linearity, dynamic range, and accuracy of exposure matching were greatly improved leading to better rendering of the output panoramas.
Full list of changes in this release:
- Added the ability to process DJI Avata 360 DNG files – drag and drop “UP” and “DOWN” images into PanoVolo or use File/Select images… to stitch.
- A custom dual fisheye stitching algorithm was implemented, including fisheye detection, 5-stage optical distortion correction and high quality optical flow overlap blending.
- Dual fisheye images can be batch processed, and results saved in linear DNG, 16 bit TIFF or JPEG formats.
- Full support for panorama projections for dual fisheye panoramas.
- Full support for panorama review and editing, including central point yaw pitch and roll adjustments for dual fisheye panoramas.
- Added the ability to adjust panorama central point angle (roll) in addition to pitch and yaw – use Ctrl + Drag to adjust pitch and yaw and Shift + Drag to adjust roll (consistent with image pitch-yaw-roll adjustments).
- Improved linearity, dynamic range and accuracy of exposure matching for panoramas rendered from DNG files.
- Improved highlight protection for panoramas stitched from DNG files.
- Updated DNG SDK to the latest version.
- Batch processor will now recognize and stitch multiple panorama sets stored in the same directory.
- Added the ability to stitch from the list of files in addition to a specific directory to the command line interface.
- Fixed the issue with the algorithm out of memory failure when non-spherical projection was created from a very large spherical panorama.
- Fixed manual panorama yaw adjustment not being saved into GPANO metadata.
- Added Danish, Finnish and Norwegian (Bokmål) translations.
